Last year's 5k Minithon was the biggest to date and this year promises to be even bigger because we have our newly created FC United women's team joining the fans and us in the men's first team on Chorlton Meadows.

So, we, poor old FC Minithon Marshals who everyone forgets have more work to do. We get there early, set the course up, tell people where to go, point runners in the right direction, gee them up when they've had enough and then tidy up when everyone's finished.

So please take pity and sponsor us for our efforts. We deserve it but more importantly, two great causes need your help and cash!

The Minithon has raised thousands of pounds for our club and local charities. Last year our efforts enabled local charity The ACE Centre  to purchase an Eye Gaze Unit, enabling people with severe disabilities to operate a computer soley by use of their eyes. Based in Oldham, ACE’s speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and occupational therapists work across England to enable those children, young people and adults with severe and complex communication difficulties to communicate effectively and "have a voice".
