Story
Everyone Active staff and members aims to raise money through a range of events to boost support and raise the profile of the events programme.
Over 500 cyclists from Everyone Active took part in a bike ride one of the events aiming to raise £25,000 for the charity during a mammoth two week effort.
The route visited all of the centres operated by Everyone Active. An official Olympic Commemorative Baton was handed between the different legs provided by one of the London 2012 volunteers who also works for Everyone Active.
All visitors and customers will be encouraged to support the cause too with collection boxes displayed on all centre receptions.
There are over 11 million disabled people in the UK. Yet shocking figures show that only 2 out of ten disabled people take part in sport once a week. Through regional, national and international events, Disability Sport Events (DSE) makes it possible for everyone to realise the potential sport brings to lives.
Disability Sport Events is a self-funded programme of the English Federation of Disability Sport. The charity is proud of the opportunities it delivers all over the country. These include festivals for disabled children, providing a range of sports sessions for participants to try. It is not only a chance for children with all impairments to be talent spotted by sports bodies, but also an opportunity to get a taste for sport.
