Eva is running the London Marathon to beat breast cancer

Virgin Money London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·
I will be running the London marathon in April 2014. Some of you may know that in December 2012 I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. It complicated things at the time that I was 25 weeks pregnant with our 4th baby.
With a team of amazing surgeons, nurses and doctors to whom I quite frankly owe mine and my babys life, I started a course of chemotherapy whilst pregnant. At 37 weeks I was induced and gave birth to our beautiful son Sam. 3 weeks later I started chemotherapy again followed by surgery and radiotherapy which at the time of writing I am still undergoing.
During this time I carried on with running (I use the term loosely and broadly!) however, I was lucky enough to be given a place in the London Marathon and now, unlike previous years, I am not up against collecting a personal best but just setting myself the challenge of doing it for the most personal, worthwhile cause I can think of.
1 in 8 women will suffer from breast cancer in their lives and contrary to popular opinion, YOU (and your loved ones) are not too young to get breast cancer. So I have two missions here, please dig deep and give as much money as you can and, when you have done that, do me a favour and go check your breasts or your loved ones :). Be body aware, you are your own best defense. It takes 2 minutes and can really save your life.....
