Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
2005 was a very sad year for our family. In May 2005, my dear Granddad lost his 9 month fight against lung cancer. In December 2005, my beloved Nanna lost her 13 month fight against bowel cancer. Nanna spent her last few weeks and passed away in St Catherines Hospice, Bamber Bridge, Preston.
St Catherines Hospice depends largely on donations to keep running. For the year 2006/7, their budgeted running costs will be £3.3m. Only 30% of this comes from the NHS.
I have seen first hand the work they do and I can tell you, it's nothing short of humbling. They allowed my Nanna to die with the utmost dignity and were a tremendous source of support for myself and our family. Nothing is too much for them, from offering holistic therapies to Nanna, to providing refreshments to our family during our vigil in the final weeks.
It will be the anniversary of Nanna's passing in December and I would dearly love to be able to donate towards the running costs of such a worthy cause in her memory. I hope you will be able to help me achieve this, by donating however small an amount.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: St. Catherine's Hospice ( Lancashire ) Ltd will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
