Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing the Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk starting on the 3rd June at St Bees and finishing 190 miles later at Robin Hood's Bay. I will be raising money for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS)
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic, progressive and disabling auto-immune disease. It is a painful condition, can cause severe disability (this varies between individuals and depends on how severe/aggressive the disease is) and ultimately affects a person’s ability to carry out everyday tasks. The disease can progress very rapidly, causing swelling and damaging cartilage and bone around the joints. Any joint may be affected but it is commonly the hands, feet and wrists. It is a systemic disease which means that it can affect the whole body and internal organs such as the lungs, heart and eyes.
The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) supports people with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), their families and carers by giving support, information, education and advocacy. They are the only charity in the UK which specifically supports people with RA. They provide a helpline and a nationwide volunteer network to support sufferers.
NRAS also campaigns vigorously across all levels of society and government, to raise awareness of the impact that this life-long disease has on patients and their families. In addition, NRAS seeks to ensure that sufferers have access to the best possible treatments and medical care.
Thank you for your support
