Story
Every hour four people are diagnosed with a type of blood cancer in the UK. Just over a year ago, my very dear friend Rachel Hyde was one of those people. For Rachel, as for many diagnosed with blood cancers and other blood disorders, a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant can be the only chance of survival. Finding a donor match can be very difficult. Anthony Nolan helps those in need of a transplant by finding tissue matches through the 500,000 adults on their register.
To help raise funds for such a great cause, on Sunday 27 September I'm going to attempt to complete a sprint triathlon (400m swim, 26km bike ride, and 6.25k run).
The immense courage and strength that Rachel has shown in her fight against cancer has been a bittersweet inspiration for me (to read more about Rachel's fight with cancer please visit her blog: https://rachaelahyde.wordpress.com). I know that it will keep me going on Sunday, as I struggle my ay around the course ...
If, with your support, I can make even a small difference to such a great cause, that would be fantastic and I know would mean a lot to Rachel and save lives.
Please dig deep and give generously.
Thank you!
