Taylan was the son of Andy Rawlinson, who works in the Off Trade Team at Enotria. Taylan developed a brain tumour and tragically died aged just 7 in August 2009. Andy and his wife Figen continue to work tirelessly since Taylan's passing, to raise awareness for this relatively unknown but extremely dangerous form of cancer.
Taylan’s Project is an umbrella group part of Brain Tumour Research and focus on funding vital scientific and laboratory-based research to improve the quality of life for brain tumour sufferers and to aid the search for better treatments, with better outcomes. They also want to raise the national awareness of this devastating illness and their ultimate ambition is to help find a cure.
Brain tumour research receives less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK yet this devastating disease kills more children and people under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Please visit the website www.taylansproject.com to find out more.
‘Enotria Run’s to the Beat’, is made up of 23 members and we have decided to dust off those trainers and all take part in this half marathon, running 13.1 miles each all in the name of charity on Sunday 28 October 2012! This challenge is part of our continued fundraising efforts for Taylan's Project during 2012 at Enotria.
Run to the Beat powered by Nike +, is London's Music Half Marathon which starts and finishes at the iconic O2 Arena. With exclusive music performances along the way by some of the top names in music to keep us motivated, we will be getting grimey down in Greenwich, dub stepping through the Docklands, rocking around the Royal Artillery Barracks and hip hopping down Ha Ha Road!
The team members are: Alison Levett (AKA Alison Hill); Robert Price; Simon Bradbury; Edgar Bettridge; Joan Torrents; Tim Beckett; Julia McKie; Jonathan Teale; Johan Backman; Maggie Macpherson; Igor Vieyra; Rachel Kelly; Finbarr Sweeney; Ivan Vuckovic; Nick Corker; Donna Ellis; Kumu Vakeesan; Lisa Harris; John Chalmers; Daniel Hart; Francesca Pulieri; Demelsa Gonzalez and Anna Gorham-Harris.
Enotria retains its popular policy of matching employees' charitable fundraising efforts, up to £250 each. With 23 staff taking part in this run, this by itself could lead to the company contributing £5,750 so please dig deep and donate now!
This devastation needs to stop and we need your help to fund the fight against brain tumours.
