I am running the Southampton ABP half marathon on 24th April to raise money in order to open the Centre for Cancer Immunology in 2017. Cancer is one of the biggest causes of death worldwide but we all have a weapon that can be used to fight cancer: your immune system. Research at the University of Southampton is looking into how to use your own immune system to detect and destroy cancer cells and I am lucky enough to be part of that research. The campaign to develop this new building will allow us to expand our research and develop new clinical trials which will save lives - pretty cool really!! You can all help by donating to the campaign, every penny counts!!
