UK Three Peaks Challenge · 2 June 2018
In June 2018 myself and a group of my Abbott colleagues will be taking part in in the UK National Three Peaks Challenge to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdown within 24hours on aid of Make a Wish Foundation.
THE CHALLENGE: The total walking distance in 23 miles (37km) and total ascent is 3064metres (10,052ft) plus 462miles driving distance all within 24hours.
Our 'Elite Team' will consist of several serious athletes, as well as some of us who may need to put in a bit of extra training beforehand. However I am confident that our combined enthusiasm, sense of adventure and terrible humour will get us though the muscle fatigue and sleep deprivation, and more importantly help us raise some money for such a worthwhile cause!
Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
