Three Peaks Challenge · 5 October 2017
The Three Peaks
The Three Peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - are the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. I'll be completing the National Three Peaks challenge in October and climbing all of these peaks in just 24 hours!
The Schedule
I'll be completing the challenge on Thursday 5th October - Friday 6th October. At that time of year, daylight hours are approximately 7am-7pm, meaning half of the challenge will be completed in the dark!
The Mountains
Ben Nevis - Fort William, Scotland
1343 metres (basecamp at 50 metres) - total climb of 1293 metres
Scafell Pike - Lake District, England
977 metres (basecamp at 70 metres) - total climb of 907 metres
Snowdon - Snowdonia National Park, Wales
1085 metres (basecamp at 60 metres) - total climb of 1025 metres
That makes a total of 3225 metres to climb, in addition to a total walking length of 40km.
The Charity
The Prince's Trust works with thousands of 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. Their wide range of programmes are designed to encourage and empower young people to turn their lives around.
Please help the Prince's Trust to support disadvantaged young people by sponsoring me in this challenge.
Thank you!
