Story

When I set off for exchange in September 2013, I never dreamt that 6 months later I'd be creating this page.

Most of you may know me as the girl who actively sought out to avoid contact with any form of physical activity throughout the larger part of her life and was commonly heard reciting her long-standing catchphrase "I don't do running".

Whilst the latter remains true, most of you will also be very surprised to hear I have purchased a pro road bike and on June 13 this year, I will be embarking on a 6 day 400 mile / 644 kilometre cycle from Leeds, UK, all the way to PARIS!

Our team is made up of 45 young, vibrant and enthusiastic Leeds University students from the Raise and Give society, and together we're looking to meet and beat our fundraising targets to make a solid contribution to the wonderful organisation that is Save the Children.

Save the Children currently works in 120 countries - saving children'slives, fighting for their rights, and helping them fulfil their potential. The organisation strives to improve the lives of children through better educationhealth care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.

By sponsoring my challenge you are making it possible for me to take part in this incredible experience, and together we will make a significant contribution to this incredible and crucial organisation.

How much is enough? Absolutely anything! But here's an idea of what you can help to achieve:

£3 could pay for life-saving treatment for eight children with diarrhoea.
£25 could provide "˜safe birth kits' for three women giving birth at home.
£50 could buy two hygiene kits with soap, towels and toothbrushes.

For more information about Save the Children, take 5 minutes out of those 1,440 in your day to Click here and have a look at what they do. It's truly inspiring stuff.

Whilst this platform is safe and secure, I understand that some of you might prefer to make financial transactions through online banking. Please contact me if you would like me to send you my direct personal bank details : )

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page!

Stay tuned for photos, fitness updates, stories from our training rides through the glorious English countryside and live updates on how much we, as a team, have raised for Save the Children.

For now, may the thought of my aching thighs be with you.

Much love,

Ella XX
