I'm running the Manchester 10k in memory of my eldest daughter Eve's friend and classmate, Lucas, who tragically died last August, just a few weeks after his 7th birthday and less than a year after being diagnosed with an aggressive, inoperable brainstem tumour. Lucas was a brave, fun loving little boy who is sorely missed by all his friends. We are raising money with the aim that in the future, a child like Lucas will enjoy a longer, better quality of life and  more precious time with their family.
