Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Harry the mini American Style Christmas Lorry has a brand new tractor unit for Christmas 2020! It started off as a Camouflage Kubotta 900 mule ATV and after 2 months of magic - performed by Dave Hall, and Marcus Bancroft (VCL Light bars) and their “apprentice” Doug Smith a new more powerful tractor unit  has been created to pull the “mighty red trailer”!

We are once again going out and about all over the Fylde every day and evening on the run up to Christmas with Harry to try and raise as much money as possible for our two Hospicies and to spread  a little bit of Christmas cheer during these difficult times. Judging from the response that we have had all ready -we are succeeding! Children of all ages are left with a big smile on their faces as Harry passes by to the sound of Christmas tunes and the new feature for this year - Santa Claus waiving out of the back doors!!!!!

EVERY PENNY that is donated will go to our two local  Hospicies who have suffered terribly this year due to so many fund raising events having to be cancelled due to Covid. It may surprise some people to know that Brian House Children’s Hospice do not normally receive ANY money from the government!! They have to totally  rely on donations and fund raising to operate and survive. This year they are £1.5 million down on what is needed to carry on at the same level as last year. This  will affects families all over the Fylde who may miss out on the care and help that is so valuable and needed when a child is in need of the expertise and compassion that the Hospice can offer.

Due to Covid  and lockdown guidance this year events such as Carol services and Christmas tree switch ons have been cancelled. These were events where we raised most of our money last year so this year we will be doing “drive rounds” in various locations where social distancing can be observed but families will hopefully get a taste of the build up to Christmas as Harry passes by. We will also be setting up outside supermarkets and in the high street in the hope of raising money to help  our Hospicies.

The Hospicies need your help. Please donate what ever you feel comfortable with to such a worthy cause. EVERY POUND WILL HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Thank you.

Doug
