Doug and Simon used to work together as Police Trainers and our ways parted around 2009 when Simon retired. When catching up last Christmas, Doug casually mentioned he was taking part in the Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run. Doug has always been a car nut and enjoys being up to his elbows in sump oil, rebuilding cars. Simon rose to the challenge of the 48hr 2000 mile drive, and later, Graeme (a fireman and friend of Doug) came on board too. Simon was once a Police Dog Handler too so the chosen charity for this year - Guide Dogs - seems really appropriate.

So there we have it three aging men in an aged car driving for 48hrs round Britain - together 'The Triple Niners' - what could possibly go wrong?
