The Clipper Round the World Race is an endurance test like no other!  Living on a 70 foot long yacht at 45 degree for up to 5 weeks at a time with 18 to 22 other like minded crazy individuals!  This is a challenge that will test us in so many ways.

It all starts on September 2, 2019 in London UK, heads across the North Atlantic and the equator to Uruguay, across the South Atlantic to South Africa, through the roaring 40’s to my home port of Fremantle in Western Australia, then across the Bight to sunny Queensland.  Then the yachts are over various ports in China and SE Asia before crossing the North Pacific to Seattle USA, where I hop on and start my race on May 2, 2020.  It’s a jaunt down the coast to the Panama Canal, the Carribbean to a port on the US east coast before crossing the North Atlantic to Northern Europe, before the finish in London in early August 2020.

But that pales in comparison to what some children of this world have to endure every single day.  Unicef has been helping children improve their life since 1946.  Here is what just a few of your generous dollars could do:

• $18(AUD) - school text books for 30 children
• $25 - five school backpacks
• $40 - treatment for a child suffering from malaria
• $90 - HIV test kits for 50 mums and their babies
• $285 - school in a box to help 40 children
• $900 - emergency supplies to help Syrian children
• $1135 - a water pump to provide essential clean, safe drinking water for a whole village or school
