Hello!
I'm cycling 45 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle for the Prince's Trust as part of the Accenture team. It's further than it sounds.
The Prince's Trust work with disadvantaged 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives. They run programmes to help these young people develop their confidence, get into employment, or start their own business. As we know our society is presently a little behind on sharing opportunity around, so a highly worthwhile cause as long as youth services and education remain comparatively neglected.
So hurting my feeble legs for a few hours is for a good purpose - really appreciate your support! Also, pray for few hills for my benefit (!).
Some other Prince's Trust fun facts:
- Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training
- The Prince's Trust has helped more than 85,000 young people set up in business since 1983
- More than 196,000 young people have joined the 12-week Team programme since its launch in 1990
- Since 1999, more than 99,000 14 to 16 year-olds have benefited from the Achieve programme, giving young people who are struggling at school and often at risk of exclusion the skills and confidence to succeed
