In Eastern Africa, over 14 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. The people of Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria and Yemen are suffering from one of the worst droughts in recent times. Food prices are rising, famine is occurring, and violence is constantly at hand.With people already weakened by hunger, their ability to survive disease outbreaks has decreased. 

Therefore, we, the University of Birmingham Islamic Society, have decided to dedicate our charity week to the East Africa Emergency Appeal with As-Suffa, particularly focusing on Somalia and one of our tasks is to climb Cadair Idris on Saturday 17th November. Through your donations, we can help to make a difference to those around the world who are suffering right now so please donate, even if it is a little amount as you can make a difference to the life of a child and to the hopes of a family.
