Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

2013 May 25 ... I took part in the 'Miles for the Missing', Clapham Common, London on behalf of 'missingpeople.org.uk' to keep up awareness and help raise funds to bring home our LOST loved ones. The past 3 years I have done the British 10k London Run to Help various MISSING Charities.

In 1989 my young son was working and back packing his way across Canada, the country of his birth.  'Charles Kj Horvath-Allan' aged 20 has not been seen alive sine the summer of 1989, 'disappeared whilst visiting KELOWNA BC CANADA - 'missing without a trace' 'presumed deceased'

Prior to his departure Sept 1988 we had discussed plans for his 21st birthday.  At this point 'Charles' asked if we would come to Canada.

14 Dec 1988  - I flew out to join Charles and watch him on the catwalk in a 'Christmas Fashion Show'  the Delta Hotel, Montreal, Quebec; so proud...... it was here he decided that he would lile come home for his birthday.  I was a little puzzled why Charles would come home on the 15th Aug 1989 - if he only had a week off work - he stated 'I have to get over my jet lag' to which I replied ' jet lag at your age!

Charles' response ''mom you are 40th on the 17th and life begins at 40"

No matter how hard I tried to convey to the Authorities - it was important for 'Charles' to be at my 40th - no one could hear me or my cry for HELP.

Charles travelled from east to west across Canada working in Montreal, Quebec, visiting his natural father Max A K Horvath Snr in Thunder Bay, ON and his godfather in Cochenour, ON (sadly both are now deceased).

17 April 1989 - Charles telephoned home from Banff, Alberta to say that all was well and his was working at the Rimrock Hotel.  We discussed where we would rendevous for our respective birthdays - it was decided - Hong Kong - where I had grown up.

11 May 1989 - Charles sent what was to be his final letter home to mom by fax from Roche Stationers, Bernard Ave, Kelowna, British Columbia stating the cost of a ticket Vancouver-Hong Kong, sending his love to his Nana and the cats.  The telephone call I was expecting to finalalize arrangements never came!

On the 1st trek across the World to SEARCH for Charles, mom + nana discovered that his tent, sleeping bag, clothing, personal ID, photographs and shaving bag had been disposed of by the 1989 campsite manager.  Items of his clothing and shaving bag had been taken and worn by other campsite residents...

1989 Mgr 'Philip FLETT' gave the rosary, tiny red bible and leather strap from Charles' boot to his mom... all that was left of Charles.

10 August 1989 - 'Charles Horvath' was officially reported missing by his mom 'Denise Allan' to the Kelowna Detachment of the RCMP; after many weeks of frantic telephone calls begging for HELP as I knew something was terribly wrong.

'Charles karoly john HORVATH-ALLAN aged 20 in 1989 is missing 'without a trace' from KELOWNA British Columbia  Canada - foul play is suspected -'SERIOUS CRIME UNIT RCMP' 'UNSOLVED COLD CASE 1989/21784'
