Climbing for Children 2013 · 27 January 2013
The Ear Foundation is a local Nottingham charity helping deaf children and their families. They are seeking to expand their education facilities which will provide a “Let’s Listen Room”, with additional office and accommodation space. Vital, but expensive (almost £1 million).
Please help me to raise funds for this worthwhile scheme.
In January 2013, I'll be climbing Kilimanjaro for children with ‘Destiny of a Child’ – a charity that supports cochlear implantation for profoundly deaf children in the UK and France. For every £1 that you donate, 50 pence goes directly to the Ear Foundation. Of the remainder, 40 pence supports Valence School in Kent for a swimming pool project for children with physical disabilities and 10 pence for 6 children-welfare centres for AIDS orphans in Africa.
Kilimanjaro! Am I crazy? It’s the highest mountain in Africa! You can see some of my walking ventures in my photo gallery. I haven’t done anything this challenging before! Lots of training needed. You can follow my journey here or tweet me (@DebHallNBRUH). Thanks for your support.
