Hello,

I'm Dean and I was injured in Afghanistan on the 2nd of July 2010. I was shot by a sniper, the bullet went completely through my brain from left to right exiting just above my right ear.

I was in full time rehabilitation or in hospital for 3 and a half years without ever going home. My family and friends were told that I wouldn't survive the weekend and 5 weeks later when I eventually woke up from my coma I was told that I would never talk, stand or walk.

I am now going to complete the Big Battlefield Bike Ride in June 2014 it is a journey of 335 miles travelling from Brussells to Paris from the 1st June to the 8th June.
