We fund research and provide support to improve blood cancer patients' lives

Story

For several years I've heard of this legendary group, The Fireflies, who traverse The Alps on two wheels to arrive as heroes during the Cannes Lions Festival.

After some cajoling I have finally plucked up the courage to join what will easily be the most physically demanding week of my life. 7 days straight, riding from Lake Geneva to Le Croisette in Cannes, via 18 mountains and numerous famous and brutal climbs.

Hearing why this group make this commitment year after year became very real when we were welcomed into the family and presented with the work that their long term charity partner, Bloodwise, carry out.

The cold, wet weekend mornings, freezing fingers, sore knees and backs from months of training pails into insignificance compared with the suffering of so many thousands who suffer blood based cancers. And the tireless, passionate dedication of those who work for Bloodwise, who not only care for and support those suffering but fund research and so much more, is humbling and will keep the peddles turning during those epic climbs.

Cancer will touch all our lives, that is guaranteed. So dig deep and support Bloodwise, The Flireflies and lil ol me in this endeavour.

For those who suffer we ride.

I hope my weary body will see some of you at the festival in Cannes.
