Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Update...

Having failed to raise my target I figured I'd give it a go anyway, with my minimals in my bag in case it all goes wrong. I managed the first 6 miles totally barefooted before switching to my minimals for fear of not finishing it. My feet felt far worse than they actually were, looking at my feet today, not a single blister.

It was fun, next time I'll train barefooted and skip the minimals. It was fun feeling like a hero when the Vibram bunch tapped me on the shoulder.

I'm running the Great North run in September. It's my first half marathon. I'd imagine it's going to be tough to raise money for charity in this climate, especially as there are several people from my place of work running the event. As an added twist and to encourage you to donate at my expense, my plan is, should I raise over £500 I will attempt to run the distance fully barefooted! I've checked with the run organisers and there is nothing to prevent me from doing this (although they wouldn't advise it)

Rest assured no amount of blisters, scratches or discomfort will encourage me back into my Trainers during the event. However, a piece of glass in the foot may! I'm determined to go the distance for the charity however.

So please dig deep and donate now.
