I am running my first ever half marathon this July (the Windmill Half Marathon, starting at Fairhaven Lake) and  I have decided to run and raise some money for an excellent cause - the Ronald McDonald House Manchester. The reason I have chosen this charity is as I have both family and friends that have had their lives sadly affected by childrens cancer. The support, and care that both children and their families receive is excellent, this helps make the most difficult time of peoples lives that little bit better.

My family has been affected by cancer before, with my young cousin Oliver being diagnosed, and then successfully defeating cancer and I know the Ronald McDonald House provided excellent care throughout this difficult time.

More recently, a very good friend - Mark Willett and his wife Vanessa, have sadly had their 1 year old son Jacob, diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer. The support that they have received from the Ronald McDonald House so far has been incredible and it has encouraged me to raise some money for an excellent cause #jacobsjoin.

Any donations at all are appreciated and will go to an excellent cause.
