Story
As many of you may be aware in November 2020 I was diagnosed with a brain tumour - a bi-frontal Oligodendroglioma "the size of two golf balls". Surgery was carried out at Hull Royal Infirmary on the 1st December which sadly was not able to remove all the tumour, leaving the necessity for follow up Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy at the Leeds Cancer Centre. Unfortunately the histopathology also highlighted that the tumour is a Grade 3 Malignant tumour, rather than a Grade 2 benign, and is therefore life limiting.
In order to make the Radiotherapy appointments I relied upon the York Against Cancer shuttle bus service, meaning that I did not need to rely on family members to give up their days, for six weeks, to get me to treatment.
The service provided by York Against Cancer was invaluable and as such I want to show my appreciation by fundraising for them through sponsorship of my Yorkshire 10 Mile run on the 17th October 2021 (presuming it will be going ahead as currently planned).
I appreciate it is not long since I was asking for sponsorship for the York Hospital Butterfly appeal but if you can find you way to sponsor me, it would be appreciated.
