We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

Hi All,

A huge note of thanks for the support and well wishes for my coast to coast cycle ride which we sucessfully completed from the 24th to 26th August 2012! 184miles cycled in the end over the 3 days with just under 19hours in the saddle. My GPS tells me I also burnt off around 6,500 calories but I think I put most of that back on each night in pasta and beer! I’m on track to raise around £1,800 for the RNLI which is better than I could have hoped for! The donation page will remain open for business until November if you want to add any final donations :-). Anyway, a full account here if you’re interested ~ http://davehursthouse2012.blogspot.co.uk/ and a sincere thanks on behalf of myself and the RNLI.

Cheers!

Dave.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for the RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution!

In September 2007 I had an accident whilst sailing my Laser Pico dinghy out at sea off Abersoch, North Wales. The Abersoch RNLI crew came to my aid and I'll be eternally grateful!

I spend a lot of time out at sea with family and friends and it made me realise just how dependent we are on this life saving volunteer emergency service funded entirely by charity.

Having run the Great North Run to raise funds for the Abersoch station in 2008 & 2009, the Great Salford Swim (a mile in open water) in 2010 and the Tatton Triathlon Olympic Distance in 2011, I've decided to do something different and a little more challenging this year to continue the fundraising. So over the 2012 August Bank Holiday I'll be taking on the "Way of the Roses" Coast to Coast cycle ride. It's 170 miles cycled over 3 days from Morcambe to Bridlington... How hard can it be ;-) ~ http://www.wayoftheroses.co.uk

The RNLI's equipment and training depends entirely upon charity funding, so please dig deep... You never know when you or someone you care about might need them!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Dave.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
