Story
This year I have decided to do something well out of my comfort zone and run 13.1 miles in the Morrisons Great North Run in Newcastle on 11th September 2016.
I am doing this not only as a personal challenge but to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a very worthy cause that is close to my heart as my partner suffers from this condition.
I really hope you will help to support me in raising money for this cause.
Since it started in 1964 the Cystic Fibrosis Trust have dedicated themselves to promoting excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with cystic fibrosis and their families.
They believe that everyone with cystic fibrosis deserves the best quality of life and real hope for the future, with access to high quality, specialist care and support.
To achieve their goal they fund research to better understand and treat cystic fibrosis, review standards of cystic fibrosis care, and provide information and advice to the CF community.
About Cystic Fibrosis
CF is a life-shortening inherited disease, affecting over 10,000 people in the UK.
You can't catch or develop CF, it's something you're born with and most cases in the UK are now diagnosed soon after birth.
It is an inherited disease caused by a faulty gene. This gene controls the movement of salt and water in and out of your cells, so the lungs and digestive system become clogged with mucus, making it hard to breathe and digest food.
