We are curently raising money in support of local volunteer Wendy, in her efforts to meet her fund raising target of £1500 before going overseas.  £1500 would be daunting target for anyone, but it is particularly difficult to find time to do fund raising when you are preparing to go overseas as a VSO volunteer, especially when you are attending VSO training courses and looking for a placement as Wendy is at the moment.  However, with VSO's grant from DFID going down every year, it is more important than ever for VSO raise money from charitable donations.  That's why fund raising is one of the most important roles played by the regional VSO Supporter Groups, whose members believe that sending volunteers to developing countries to share their valuable professional skills is one of the best ways to improve the lives of some of the poorest people in the world.
