Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The London Underground has 270 stations across 11 lines, covering approximately 250 miles. On Friday 4th April 2014 our challenge is to travel to EVERY station in ONE day! It won't be easy! It will take between 18 and 20 hours and we'll be following the 2009 Guinness-World-Record-Route with the World Record Holder Geoff Marshall.

Our aim is to raise £250.00 for REGENERATE. We have been inspired by their work - specifically the SURE24 orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya. We understand £250 would pay for over 500 hot meals - this means 100 children could have food every dinner time for five months!!

Please donate - even A QUID would get two kids a hot meal at SURE24! Together we can make a difference!

SURE24 explanation: The project helps kids who we're living on the streets of Nakuru in Kenya. The children were orphaned because their parents had either died of AIDS or murdered in the political clashes. The children are educated, clothed, fed & sheltered. Each year that goes by, more children are cared for by SURE24. Last summer alone, over 40 children, all girls, stumbled into the home. Approximately 220 children are currently in SURE24's care.

About REGENERATE: In the UK, the project works with young families in Roehampton and estates across London, helping transform lives and communities from the inside out. The community work in SW15 includes drop in youth centre at 'The Juice Bar' which also has a recording studio to serve the needs of the young people that are developing their talents musically. Two after school football clubs cater for up to 60 children and young people aged between 8 and 16 years old. Their are mentoring projects for young people who need stability and positive adult role models in their life, plus business development projects for those who maybe themselves trapped in poverty yet have an entreprenurial brain and need the contacts and support to see their dreams blossom. Kids clubs, teenage mum support, Kings and Queens events for the Estate pensioners and community Festivals are just some of the other events that Regenerate based in SW15 run throughout the year.
