Hi, my name is Damian. Myself and some great people from team RegaLead have taken a grand challenge of long distance cycling to support Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. And we are going to make it through the sun, rain, snow and wind or whatever condition mother earth might throw at us and though some of us have not ridden a bicycle in years!!!

The most of our team is cycling from London to Paris, but unfortunately I can not participate in the event as I have to be somewhere else on that date. So I decided to travel across Scotland by bike in may! :D

UPDATE: I introduced final changes to my route. I have shorten it from 340 to 312 miles, but made it way more harder to accomplish than it was before. I start the challenge in Thurso, cycle to Rhiconnich (via Tongue and Durness) where I join Cape Wrath Trail (http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cape-wrath-trail.shtml) and go south to Maol Bhuidhe where I take a turn into the Isle of Skye. I am wild camping on the way and due to the nature of the place I will have to carry with me 5 days food supplies. The route goes across the wildest part of Scotland and it is not really a cycling trail - pathless boggy sections, river crossings, rocky climbs, Scottish weather and lovely midges. Sounds like loads of fun! All of that with fully equipped 'camelbike'.

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity exists to improve the lives of seriously ill children, specifically those with severe brain and blood conditions. Many of these conditions are rare, which is no consolation to the child and parent affected. In fact, it often means they’re more isolated and scared. They can find themselves amongst nurses and doctors who are struggling to diagnose, to care, and to treat. The whole experience can be terrifying.
