Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and read my story.
Last year, my friend Julie was driving her car, with twins Natasha and Sophie, who were 2 at the time, in the back. Nothing unusual about that morning until a mini bus driver, who had only been in the country a week, turned into Julie's car. The resulting impact has changed our lives forever. Natasha died from her injuries that evening.
Over two decades of looking after people who have been involved in road accidents does not prepare you for such a devastating event. How do you deal with the death of a child, a sister, a twin? I don't know how they manage but what I do know is that Winston's Wish have been there for them and have been a blessing to them in their darkest hours.
I'd like to give something back for being there for my friends so when these cycling challenges came up I've jumped at the chance. Riding from Blackpool to Paris over 5 days will be a massive challenge and then taking on one of the most iconic climbs in le Tour de France. The tower to tower will be just after the 1st anniversary of Tasha's death so will be even more poignant to complete it in her memory.
