As a retired soldier of 57 this is possibly my last ultra marathon. I want to use this opportunity to raise much needed funds for homeless ex service men & women in Bristol. As a former Major with the Royal Military Police I've seen first hand the selfless dedication to duty of the men and women of our Forces serving their country but now finding themselves in need of support.

Running this last 163 miles race high in the Portuguese Mountains I'd like to raise the profile of the work of the Community Self Build Agency. A national organisation with projects throughout the UK, this is the second project with which it has been involved here in Bristol working with Bristol based veterans keen to get their lives back on track, taking pride in living in the homes that they have built themselves.
