Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and my 2012 charity challenge which follows on from some previous ones including the Coast to Coast Bike ride from West to East Coast of northern England in 2010, the 3 Peaks Climbing Challnge in 2009 in 22 hrs and last year the London to Brighton Bike Ride. This years one is probably going to be the most challenging. As I along with a few other mates have never been in a kayak before until we had a training day on Saturday 23rd June in the Peak District.
We are all touched at some point in our lives by the "Big C". Who hasn't had a loved one that has battled cancer in one of it's forms? For me it was my mother and a very good personal friend who sadly died in his late forties from throat cancer.
During the darkest moments the amazing people at MacMillan are there to offer support, comfort and understanding when it is needed most.
We want to do something to help them continue their work, which is why 8 middle-aged novice kayakers are going to attempt to complete the Great Glen Kayak Challenge between the 7th and 9th September this year.
