London Landmarks Half Marathon 2018 · 25 March 2018 ·
On 8th May 2017, after a dream pregnancy and a week past the due date, my neice Georgia gave birth to her daughter, Beatrice Emilia Bunning. Sadly, Bea was born without a heartbeat and despite a good fight didn't make it through the night. This was a complete and heartbreaking shock as she seemed to be growing healthily and happily over the nine months with no apparent sign of struggle. To pay tribute to her, I am running the London Landmarks half-marathon, hoping to raise money for Tommy's baby charity.
The sad fact is that 15 babies die every day in the UK through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. For the majority of cases the reasons for death aren't clear, making an already unbearable time even harder for grieving families. Tommy's funds and undertakes groundbreaking and difficult research, helping families not just understand such causes but also to prevent them, saving babies' lives.
I would really appreciate whatever people can give to help support such vital and life-saving research.
Thank you very much,
Claud xx
