I am a Brownie Leader in Surrey and have been selected to be part of a team of 6 travelling to Guyana this summer to participate in a GOLD (Guiding Overseas Linked with Development) project.

While we are there, we will be running activity and training sessions for girls and adults on a diverse range of topics including the environment, advocacy, leadership and camping skills. We will also be supporting the Guyana Girl Guide Association to help recruit and retain girls and leaders so that more young women get the opportunity to experience all of the wonderful opportunities that Guiding can bring. The project goals have been chosen by the host country to ensure that they are relevant and appropriate. Hopefully this means that our project in the summer will make a real impact to Guiding and the wider community in Guyana.

To participate in the project, we need to raise around £2,000. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
