Story
Well, would you believe its been four years now since Tom died and The Lullaby Trust have helped us immensely. They provided emotional help line support
in the early days, and a befriender to help deal with the loss. They have
provided annual family days out for us to have fun and meet other bereaved
families and provided bespoke support and advice when I needed help
dealing with Grace's emotions recently.
Through the "Care of next Infant" scheme they provided resuscitation training to
us before Imogen was born and ensured we were provided with a breathing monitor for the early weeks. They helped arrange additional care and support through local health visitor teams and a designated consultant for us.
As I am turning 40 this year, I wanted to mark the occasion by doing something poignant and challenging. So, myself and two school friends are getting
together in August to raise money for our own charities and walk the three
highest peaks in the UK in under 24 hours - Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafel
Pike.
Their support is ongoing to families such as ours and this year they are providing
additional support for families who have lost children over 1 year old. I hope
one day to become a befriender myself, to support other families. Please help
me reach my goal.
