Story

Well we did it. We had a lovely day and the team were joined by Poppy & Amber (5), Hannah, James, Charlie, & Adam (9), and Bethany and Ruth (11). The children joined us at various points at the start and the end with the two oldest completing the whole ride. We were also supported by a friend, Mike C, who rode 25 miles in Brighton on the same day. Thanks so much to the team for everything and thank you for sponsoring us...your donations helped keep our pedals spinning.

You can still leave a donation if you are visiting for the first time or checking back to see if we met the challenge.

Just 2 days to go and we've picked some more sponsorship (special thanks to the people working at Essex Police and the friends and family of all the team) and we've picked up some more riders! So there will be 8 riding all together including Poppy (5)and the daughters of Melissa (who are 9 and 11 and are giving up their precious weekend time to join us).

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us. I have updated the total with an amazing amount of sponsorship raised by Ange in just 1 day. The money being pledged is really motivating us. Thank you

Team Meso - 25 mile bike ride for the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund.

Having been inspired by news of a FB friends son cycling 54 miles for the June Hancock Mesothlioma Research Fund, I decided that 'with a bit of help from my friends' I could do something too.  I haven't ridden a bike for over 10 years and I don't own a superbike! I have dusted down my 12 year old, slightly rusty and very heavy old bike and together we are making progress!!

Mesothelioma is a malignant lung disease which results mainly from exposure to asbestos. The June Hancock Mesothlioma Research Fund supports high quality mesothelioma research projects, contributes to clinical trials, and assists with many patient & carer led information seminars and literature.

My Dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in 2008. Before his diagnosis I hadn't ever heard of this disease, it took me months to be able to pronounce it and longer to spell it.

So in September I will be cycling 25 miles with the support of 6 fantastic ladies (Team Meso) for the same fund. I hope they don't mind me saying..... but this is quite a challenge for 6 ladies who normally meet to eat and drink!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and doante now!
