Story
Hi all
Ive got my spanking new bike and have begun training (now and again) to embark on a bike ride from London to Paris, i,m pretty sure that in a moment of madness i've bitten off more than i can chew but there is no backing down now. Myself and my 2 brothers, Nick and Simon, have decided to do it, firstly, in memory of our mum, then to deal with our mid-life crises' and most importantly to raise money for this charity.
In January i lost my mum, Kate, to dementia. It was diagnosed 3 years ago and we, as her family, knew very little of how to deal with it. She was only in her late 60,s when the disease took hold and as we didnt understand it we became frustrated and exasperated at her change in behaviour. Mum was a talented sportswoman in her younger days and became a keen follower of sport later on, especially cricket. No-one asks for, or deserves Alzheimers, least of all mum, who was a kind and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
So, to do my little bit and to remember her in the good times on September 14th i will be putting my ageing body on the line.
Any contribution no matter how small would be gratefully recieved, so if you like me please donate and if you dont please also donate in the knowledge that this bike ride will see me in real pain.
Kind Regards
Chris Scott
