Story
HELLO
So i'm running 52 half marathons in the 52 weeks of 2014. Some will be organised events like the Great North Run, others will be at least 13.1 miles of local running, some might be a bit longer than 13.1, but none will be shorter. Every single one of them will be logged via a GPS watch or mobile phone app. If anyone wants to run with me let me know.
Im running to raise money for Parkinson's UK (http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/).
My Dad and my wifes Dad both have Parkinson's disease which is a progressive neurological condition.
People with Parkinson's don't have enough of a chemical called dopamine because some nerve cells in their brain have died.
Without dopamine people can find that their movements become slower so it takes longer to do things.
The loss of nerve cells in the brain causes the symptoms of Parkinson's to appear.
There's currently no cure for Parkinson's and we don't yet know why people get the condition.
Parkinson's doesn't directly cause people to die, but symptoms do get worse over time.
TEXT SCHR52 and the amount to 70070
