On 15th June 2011 at Peel's Cafe in Market Street, Tamworth I am holding a stylish and sophisticated event.  It is entitled Tina McBain's Coffee, Chocolate and Chat Charity Morning.  It is primarily for my facebook friends in Tamworth and of course via my facebook page to help raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.  Of course there are so many good causes I could have chosen, but I decided on this one as our new Mayor of Tamworth, Jeremy Oates has chosen the RNLI as his benefitting charity for his mayoral term.

Of course Tamworth could not be further from the sea, as Peter Kaye once said in his famous Bullseye sketch.  But everyone has the potential of benefitting from the fantastic work they do.  They have to rely on donations, there are no government funds for this charity.

I understand Tamworth has two lifeboats named after the town, so there is a common link there too.

If you donate via this page, it will go directly to the RNLI.  If you donate via the event of 15th June, we will present Jeremy with the money raised shortly after.

What will we be doing on the day? 
The event will run from 10 am until 1pm
We will be enjoying great company and the hospitality of the proprietor Simon Matthews who is a real character.  There will be raffles, there will be things to buy and I am hoping one or two entertainers will nip in too.

In a nutshell we will be just be having a great morning, and raise some funds into the bargain.   I will be contacting various people and businesses for donations of prizes and will accept any offers from individuals who wish to help in some way.
