Story
UPDATE: I achieved 320 lengths (8km) on the day and would like to thank everyone for all their fantastic support! I couldn't have broken my target so comprehensively without it!
My story:
Ben McNicol died of cancer in May 2012 aged 6. I never met Ben, yet the Trust his parents, Roddy and EJ, have set up in his memory has touched my heart. They aim to raise £200,000 pounds to fund a property for the families of sick children undergoing treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
I am participating as one of 48 swimmers in the Land Equipment Charity Swim on 11 October 2013 at the Elm Park Leisure Centre in Filton, Bristol. We are aiming to swim the length of the River Wye (215km) in 10 hours. Each of the swimmers will have to cover approximately 4.5km to hit the target.
The event overall is raising funds for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), but I have chosen to split my fundraising between the ABF and the Ben McNicol Trust.
Please contribute as much as you can and GiftAid it too and let's help this fantastic Trust that supports families in their darkest days.
