Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2006 my mum had her first major stroke. After some time recovering in hospital it appeared that she might make a recovery. However, her condition deteriorated again, and she needed further surgery to relieve pressure on her brain. Sadly, she did not recover well from the second surgery in 2009, and for the last three years has been confined to the Sheldon Unit in Birmingham. The staff do a great job caring for my mum, for which we are all very grateful. Further work is needed to ensure sufficient levels of care for those affected by stroke, as well as additional work to prevent strokes from occurring in the first place.
