Story

Hi everyone,

On the 6th of April, alongside my fellow team mates, I am taking part in a charity hike of Snowdon whilst wearing pregnancy bellies that are the same weight as a full term pregnancy in aid of Freedom from Fistula.

An estimated 2 million women and girls suffer from obstetric fistula caused by prolonged labour and obstructed childbirth. Freedom from Fistula provides free fistula surgeries, maternal health care and support for the most vulnerable women and girls in Africa. These women suffer from childbirth complications that cause them to be kicked out of their communities. Not only do they often lose their new born baby, they lose their husbands, their friends and their jobs, all because of something that it so easily preventable in the modern world.

Not only does the charity correct complications from childbirth, but they also educate these women so that when they return to their communities. They can go into jobs that will enable them to support their families and survive.

I personally cannot comprehend that in the modern world, women are entered into a life of despair and solitude for simply have a baby, which is a basic human right.

Please please give whatever you can, small or large, for this amazing charity, and if you have a spare 10 minutes, watch this video below for some inspo.
