8th Sept: The 10K Challenge has now been postponed as so few signed up :-( Thank you for your support. Those that sponsored me will be reimbursed.x
What am I doing?! I said I wouldn't run again after the 2013 London Marathon, but I guess it must be a bit like childbirth, in that I have obviously forgotten what it was like at the time and now think it's a good idea! Thankfully this run is only 10K so I hope won't leave me in such pain.
I am running for Acting for Others, a charity set up in the 1960s by Laurence Olivier, Richard Attenborough and Noel Coward to raise money for people in the entertainment profession - actors, dancers, musicians, technicians, designers, front of house staff, backstage staff etc - those who have fallen on hard times and are worse off than others. Those who are ill, have a disability or are caring for others, preventing them from seeking work. The Chairman of the charity is none other than Dame Judi Dench - perhaps she will be there on the day to cheer us on...
It will be an amazing day - loads of actors running together no doubt spouting Shakespeare, throwing out the jazz hands or doing the whole thing through interpretive dance
The run will take place at Dorney Lake near Windsor - former venue of the 2012 Olympics rowing and kayaking events, on 11th October at 11am.
Please sponsor me! Anything from as little as £1 to whatever you can afford. It will all make such a difference to those who need it. It will also spur me on to drag myself across that finish line in a half decent time!!
Big thank yous!x
