Charlotte's Wobbleberry Challenge

Wobbleberry Challenge · 27 December 2017
For 2018 I've decided to challenge myself and push out of my comfort zone all in aid of a very worthy cause - Hannahs Willberry Wonder Pony. For those of you that haven't heard of Hannah Francis she was a keen event rider and unfortunately at just 17 years old she was diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer in her pelvis, right hip joint, lower spine and lungs called Osteosarcoma. Hannah set up Willberry Wonder pony, the charity aims to support vital research into osteosarcoma and to grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people and their families.
Sadly in early August 2016, Hannah lost her battle, She has left a massive legacy behind and the charity continues to grow.
So the Wobbleberry challenge - what is it? Its a personal challenge to be aiming at a BE80(T) event, having never completed one previously with their equine partner. This has proven to be an effective balance between a proper challenge and one that is achievable by ordinary people, riding ordinary horses. Its aimed at wimpy riders (defo me!) who have never considered to take part in an event before but have been inspired by Hannah to do so.
Eric and I will aim for a BE80 - this is a one day event where you ride a dressage test, showjumping round then to finish off cross country, the fences of which are set at 80cm.
This is a massive challenge for me which will take a lot of focus and practise, sweat and tears along the way, but the sense of achievement if I was to complete this would be amazing and even more so to know its for such a worthwhile cause! I will keep a blog along the way to keep you all updated of my progress.
** Update** I’m aiming for Speetley in June to carry this challenge out depending on progress! #feelingnervous
Thank you for reading my story.
