Story
On 1st July 2012 we’ll be swimming the Great Manchester Swim in Salford Quays. The race is a mile long in filthy Mancuinan waters and the potential to come into contact with a couple of dead rats is high. With our wetsuits on order, our outdoor training will begin once the exam season is over. Our progress will be documented and all horrendously cold experiences noted. Once we’ve learnt the ways of open water swimming, a target will be set in which to complete the swim in.
We’re taking part in the Great Manchester Swim to raise money for Malcolm's and Charlotte's nine year old cousin, Sofia who has partially lost the sight in one eye. We’re consequently swimming for the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB) who provide support for those with sight loss and also researches solutions to eyesight problems and blindness. For further information follow the link: http://www.rnib.org.uk/Pages/Home.aspx.
This is a valuable cause and obviously very personal to us right now. So we’re asking for sponsorships, not only for the disgusting experience we’re going to have to endure, but to provide support for the future wellbeing of our cousin and for those in similar situations.
Remember, every penny helps!
Thank you,
Charlotte, Malcolm & Rob
