We educate, support & raise awareness to save lives and improve outcomes.

Story

Every 3.5 seconds, someone in the world dies from sepsis. In the UK alone 52,000 people lose their lives to sepsis every year. This is more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined. Globally sepsis claims 6 million lives a year. Yet with early diagnosis, it is easily treatable.  If we had known about sepsis and the warning signs then maybe Rob would still be with us, we will never know...

Rob (Ellie's darling brother and my wonderful friend) was never one for physical exertion. I’m sure he would think that running a half marathon around London is bonkers and we should be doing a sponsored walk via London pubs! I’m sure we will be thinking the same come mile 12! But bonkers or not, we are running it to raise awareness for this brilliant charity - and to celebrate Rob’s amazing life.

Along with Rob, there are so many others that are near and dear to me that have been affected or lost their lives to sepsis. We are doing this for you too.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
