Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some 6 months ago I volunteered to take part in the annual Salisbury Hospicecare Trust Midnight Walk - a 13.1 mile walk setting off at midnight on June 5th from The Five Rivers leisure centre in Salisbury. I must also admit to being influenced by Carol Morrell who completed the walk last year and encouraged me to sign up when she arrived to work one day with the application form. Finally the promise of a bacon butty at the finish has spurred me on - I haven't allowed myself a bacon butty for months!
So, aided by my loss of driving licence last July due to my epilepsy diagnosis and a desire to lose weight and gain fitness I have been doing my best to get ready for the walk. So far I have lost 15kg and increased my ability enormously (a 15 mile bike ride was unthinkable this time last year and yet I made it round in 1:20mins a couple of days ago) and now need to make the final push to be ready for 5 June.
I would love all this effort to benefit others as well hence the creation of this page and the sponsorship forms which are now at Abbey Stores and Coombe Bissett Stores. If you can donate anything at all towards the Hospice - such a worthy local cause, I would be most grateful.
Keep an eye on my blog at www.abbeystores.blogspot.com for news of how I am getting on before and after the walk.
So please dig deep and donate now.
