Story

MMT's Charity Cupcake Challenge

#beatepilepsy

Introducing - Caley Cupcake! Whoop, whoop, whoop!

MMT's Anna Smaill wanted a teddy bear's picnic, I liked an afternoon tea and so we came up with a cupcake challenge. The idea was to identify something we could all easily share and also enjoy, whilst spreading essential awareness of the seriousness of epilepsy.

Of course, it had to be purple because purple is the colour of epilepsy, it was also our son Muir's favourite colour until he was two and then the word purple was lost to him because of his epilepsy. Maybe, just maybe this ambitious challenge signifies the beginning of a long awaited ‘purple patch' for epilepsy. I really hope so - but it's over to you, our many supporters with the help of Caley Cupcake!

With the launch event in Peacock Alley at the Caledonian Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh on 30th April 2015, our guests will find themselves 'Cupcaked!' For the privilege of enjoying a little cupcake with a cuppa or even a glass of fizz, everyone will make a small online donation on our Justgiving page or text donate MMTC88 to 70070. But the Challenge doesn't end there because cupcakes are for sharing and now that they have been 'Cupcaked!' they have to host their own cupcake event for friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances, however many they like, any place, any time, however big, however small. It doesn't matter at all as long as a minimum of three people are 'Cupcaked!' And so the campaign will spread as we are all 'Cupcaked!' across Scotland, the UK and even the world!

The challenge will extend to a whole year, capturing all those special moments in the annual calendar and in our lives that give us reasons to celebrate. Bake them, buy them, branded MMT cupcakes can be ordered at 3D cakes, Edinburgh - for collection only ( http://www.3d-cakes.co.uk/index.php/cupcakes/muir-maxwell-trust-cupcake-boxes/bespoke-cupcake-box.html ) £1 per box of 12 will be donated to MMT.  If you would like to decorate your cakes with MMT toppers please call our office on 0131 273 5256. Share photos of your cake bakes and your cupcake parties in our gallery on our website - email them to us at info@muirmaxwelltrust.com or let us witness your bake or your party on YouTube - contribute to the frenzy that will create a ' purple patch' for epilepsy and share a cupcake! Enter our monthly competitions for the best in the theme of cupcakes and parties. Follow our on-line auction of exquisite culinary and other experiences to savour and most of all - donate, donate, donate.
