I did it!!!!!
On April Fools day we all reached Machu Picchu after a tough but absolutely amazing four days trekking the Inca Trail.
I must admit this was the toughest challenge of my life but it was also one of the most amazing experiences too. I made some wonderful friends and through the toughest days we really spurred eachother on!
I would like to thank everyone for sponsoring me so far, if you haven't done so yet please do it now! Every penny really does make a difference to this amazing charity!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I qualified as a residential surveyor in December 2009. Shortly after qualifying, I received an e-mail regarding the RICS Machu Picchu Challenge 2011.
Peru and Machu Picchu in particular, are two places I have always wanted to visit, so I signed up!
In March 2011 I will be trekking the Inca Trail with a number of other surveyors from around the country. I will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and also Lionheart. I have set up a separate page for Lionheart.
I know the trek will be difficult and coping with the altitude will be hardwork but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and to raise money for two hugely worthy causes at the same time makes at all the more worthwhile.
Marie Curie Cancer Care helps terminally ill people and their families. They employ more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, and will care for around 29,000 patients in the community and in their hospices this year, as well as offering support to their families. Marie Curie's services are always free of charge to patients and their families.
I have started my fundraising already by organising two charity events.....a fashion show to be held on 7th May and a charity auction and dinner/dance to be held on 25th September!
