Story
This summer, myself and Becky Maltby will be attempting the national Three Peaks Challenge. This consists of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Scotland, Scafell Pike, the highest in England and Snowdon, the highest in Wales – all in just 24 hours!
We are doing this in order to raise money for Young Minds UK. With all the 21st century pressures of society, social media and technology it is becoming increasingly important to look after the mental health of our young people. One in ten children and young people, aged 5-16, suffer from a diagnosable mental health problem such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. That’s an average of three children in every classroom. Young Minds makes sure young people get the best possible mental health support and have resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
I love adventures and since climbing Snowdon last year, the Three Peaks Challenge has always been in the back of mind. It seems to require the ideal amount of fitness and endurance to present a real yet achievable challenge – but a lot of training will still be needed in both of these aspects before we are ready!
Please donate as much or as little as you can... it all makes a difference!
